Gates are excellent security additions for residential and commercial settings, but only if they're able to open and close efficiently. 1-3/8" Steel Female Hinges are an essential part of your gate. Fitting perfectly with the male hinge, they allow the gate to freely open and close. The hinges connect to the gate frame with a 1-3/8" outside diameter. The pin of the male hinge (sold separately) connects to the female hinge while the male hinge clamps to the gate post. These fence parts are made of rust resistant steel. Carriage nut and bolt (part # 11173) sold separately. This order comes with ten female hinges.

Where is it installed? The female hinge clamps to the gate frame. 

How many do you need? For most gates, 2 female hinges and 2 male hinges are required. For gates taller than 6 feet, additional hinges are recommended.
