2" x 4" x 8' Western Red Cedar Rail for Wood Fences

Wood fences are the most common fences around and consist of posts, rails and pickets! Rails are the long horizontal pieces that attach post to post in order for you to hang your pickets on!

Western red cedar is superior to douglas fir due to its natural durability, superior stability, and aesthetic appeal. It contains natural tannins that resist rot, decay and insect damage without chemical treatment! Cedar is more dimensionally stable, which means it's less likely to warp, shrink, and twist compared to douglas fir! These rails also come surfaced on all four sides to give them a smooth finish, "S4S".

We typically use 2 rails per section for 4' tall wood fences, and 3 rails per section for 6' tall fences
